    this choir has done the entire rachmaninov vespers on cd. I think philips is the label. It really is fantastic though. check it out.

    Rachmaninov certainly did love those descents in the bass . . and handled them well, as a parting gift of loveliness in this gorgeous work. That closing chord progression is just beauty itself.
